Problem
Certain demographics visit art galleries much less than others. I wanted to investigate the reasons and barriers, to enable more people to enjoy art.

User research: Testing assumptions
User research: Testing assumptions
Summary
I conducted secondary research. I want to identify frustrations people experience during the process of viewing an art gallery.
Are certain types of people excluded from art galleries? If so, how and why? I want to understand people's pain points about visiting art galleries, from those that are less likely to go.

Assumptions
My assumptions were that there were certain demographics didn't visit art galleries as often as others: BAME (Black, Asian, and minority ethnic), LGBT+, disabled people, and those on low income.
This was based on the possible impact of systemic and historical racism, LGBT-phobia, and ableism. I discovered my assumptions were fairly accurate.

Goal statment
My virtual art gallery app will let users see and learn about art, which will affect underrepresented art gallery visitors by allowing them to engage with art easily and enjoyably.
I will measure effectiveness by gathering user feedback.
